Amitabh is the Head of start-up ecosystem, India at Amazon Internet Services. Prior to joining AWS Amitabh had been an entrepreneur, passionate about technology-driven businesses, that impact human prosperity. He has directly contributed to the genesis of several fresh ideas translating them effectively into robust solution-led offerings. He has led product management, product marketing, customers success and business /sales functions in the start-ups or companies he has been associated with. Amitabh was recently the co-founder of Curo HealthCare, a digital health platform for managing chronic conditions acquired by Round.glass. Prior to that Amitabh was the Managing Director for Macmillan’s Science and Education business in India where he drove the organization’s initiatives on adaptive learning and digital education. His tryst with entrepreneurship started in when he co-founded Cymbal Corporation, a leading systems integrator HQ in California that was acquired by Patni Computer Systems for $68 million. He then founded StudyPlaces.com, a leading education portal that connected international students to universities around the world acquired by Educomp.  

He is an alumnus of Punjab University, Singularity university and Stanford Graduate School of Business

Sameer has been an early-stage investor in over 38 companies.

His operational expertise lies in product management, business development, sales acceleration, recruiting, follow-on fundraising, and scaling. At Nexus, Sameer focuses on consumer internet, enterprise / SaaS, ed-tech, healthcare and b2b commerce domains. At Nexus, Sameer has led investments in Postman, Unacademy, Infra.market, Zolo, Hasura.io, Ultrahuman, Quandl, RoadRunnr (Zomato), Joveo and a variety of other companies.

Prior to Nexus, Sameer was the founding member at Reliance Capital’s early-stage venture capital fund (Reliance Ventures) where he led investments in PayTM, HealthSpring (Columbia Pacific), Tessolve Semiconductor (Hero Electronix), Dhama Innovations (strategic buy-back), Greendust, Stoke (Mavenir Systems) & EBand Communications (CarrierCom). Sameer has previously served in operating roles at UTStarcom, Inc, Ericsson AB and American Wireless BroadBand, as a Product Manager, Solutions Architect, and Network Architect in the US, China and India. He is an Advisor to AngelList India & was earlier an Advisor to Microsoft Ventures India. He was voted as a “40 under 40 Alternative Investment Professionals in India 2018″ by IAAIF. He is also a Kautilya Fellow (Class of 2020).

A life-long learner, Sameer earned a B.S. in Computer Engineering as an International & Founders Scholar from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. While at IllinoisTech, he also interned at Hughes Software Systems, UTStarcom, Spectranet and did undergraduate research work for National Science Foundation, Molex and IIT Research Institute (IITRI).
