We are delighted to inform you, the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) has launched the maiden “BCIC EMERGING STARS Award” for Karnataka based startups, in continuation of its mission to promote the vibrant business ecosystem of the state.

This Award shall be far different from the other Awards instituted by leading organisations.

The aim of the award is to identify and recognize early stage startups and ventures, and help them accelerate their business through advice, business development and funding. For this initiative, we have Deloitte as our Principal Knowledge partner and are supported by IIIT-B, IIMA and IIT Alumni Assn. GOI’s few research and innovation organisations are also supporting us. The Chairman of the Jury panel is Sri.K Jairaj, IAS , Retd Addl Chief Secretary, GoK.

The BCIC Emerging Stars Award shall be widely publicized and shall have 3 stages of elimination: nomination round (Jan 27, 2020- Feb 15, 2020), shortlisting (before Apr 15, 2020), Jury round (before end Apr, 2020) followed by the Awards ceremony ( Saturday, May 16th’2020). The Awards ceremony shall be preceded with live programs involving successful unicorn promoters, panel discussion with venture capitalists, etc.

This Award, once made successful, shall be continued during the future years as well. This Award will be far different from the other Start up Awards as the qualifying conditions would help the Start-Ups in the real sense (with modest beginning, lower capital threshold of Rs.25.crs and an existence of 3-7 years besides few other criteria) from the State to get identified and get accelerated assistance, nurturing, mentoring, funding in all those sectors which are headed by our sub committees / industry leaders for prolonged periods from the BCIC so as to help them gain market attention.

Retd Justice. B.N.Srikrishna, Supreme Court Judge, has consented to be the Guest of Honour during the Awards function. Few more prominent industrialists are expected to give their consent to participate.
