The Melton Foundation is a leading proponent of global citizenship practice worldwide. Over 25 years of building young leaders (Melton fellows) through experiential learning, skill development, and intercultural exposure. They are currently active in Germany, China, Chile, India, Ghana, and the United States. Each year we convene for a Global Citizenship Conference (GCC). They connect their fellows with different institutions and organizations that aim to empower young people to make a change. By doing so they strive to work with actors from all societal sectors. It is their aim to promote the idea of global citizenship as a philosophy to tackle social and environmental challenges using a global perspective.

This year’s GCC 2019 will take place in Bangalore, India from 23-29 September 2019. They will delve into the intersection of sustainability, technology, and social innovation. The focus of the GCC will lay on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Good Health and Nutrition (SDG 2 and 3), Renewable Energy (SDG 7), Waste Reduction (SDG 12), and of course Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17). They will showcase, discuss and ideate new technological and social innovations, always with an eye on what global perspectives can add to local solutions.
